First Presbyterian Kindergarten Playground

2018 was the Year of the Playground for Delta Design Build. In addition to playgrounds installed as part of the HOPE Community Partnerships, we were selected to design the playground for the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood’s Kindergarten program. The church wanted a playground that would immerse children in a world of play, stimulating their senses and imagination. Music was a major focus, as it is a key part of child development: the First Pres playground features a kid-sized metallophone and drum from Moonshot Recreation. The playground incorporates a number of accessible pieces of equipment and play spaces, including the musical equipment and the calming "cozy dome". The play equipment areas and shaded seating area are connected by the "trike track" where Kindergarteners can ride tricycles around the circles and under the bridge.
