Village Life Outreach Project

Roche Health Center & Anne Marie Reproductive and Child Health Center

Roche, Tanzania

Village Life Outreach Project is a Cincinnati-based healthcare nonprofit that works in partnership with three remote villages in Tanzania, East Africa to promote health and education. Delta DB co-founders Richard Elliott and Emily Roush-Elliott, a Cincinnati area native, have been involved with VLOP for over ten years. From 2010 through 2013, Richard served as Project Manager and then as Executive Director.

Delta Design Build Workshop continues to work with Village Life Outreach Project, specifically on the Roche Health Center established by VLOP in 2011. In 2016, Richard traveled to Tanzania to wrap up construction of one medical personnel duplex, and begin a second one. These staff houses are essential to support the RHC because the remoteness of the site means that resident doctors and nurses are required for the center to qualify to offer many important medical services and medications. Delta DB is also currently providing design assistance for an addition to the Health Center's maternity ward ... ??

Challenge

Every successful product is the fruit of hard work, and this applies to every field of business. Intuition alone is not enough to create a product that people will love and use. You also need to do your research, thinking, planning, differentiating yourself, and more. Write about some of the challenges you faced in designing this product and what steps you and your team took to overcome them.

Value

Tell potential customers why they should invest in this product. Describe its benefits, its advantages over similar products, and its unique features. Make sure potential customers feel confident about investing their money in this product. Will it last a lifetime? Is it healthier than other products? Maybe it is unique and handmade? Whatever the value is, don’t be shy about bragging!
